Babies’ Home Christmas Uganda 2017
A time to be joyful and merry!
What a BEAUTIFUL time we had celebrating Christmas with our Ugandan family this past weekend.
We hope all of you enjoyed spending the holiday with your families as well!
In keeping with Christmas tradition at the Babies’ Home, our incredible Mamas and Aunties prepared a fantastic feast for the home.
While Mama Claire and Mama Robinah prepared the rice, matooke, and meat for the kids, Auntie Carol prepared her famous homemade, specialty cake.
Always a favorite of the children on their birthdays and holidays. Mostly because Auntie Carol, who is also our Nursery Program Director, puts LOVE into every creation she bakes.
And as you could’ve guessed, Carol’s cake was the kids’ favorite part of the day.
There was plenty of food AND cheer to go around the home that we built for vulnerable children, nearly 5 years ago.
It’s safe to say we’ve grown a lot in that time, not only as an organization but as a family.
And our babies are growing too!
This year we had six of our little ones complete their first year of nursery school. Caleb, Alaina, Claire, Grace, Charles and David all graduated to Nursery Top class, while Amina with special needs graduated out of Nursery class into Primary level.
We’ve been BLESSED to watch as each of the twenty children rescued into our orphanage have developed emotionally, mentally, and physically during their time with us.
A great deal of this development is due to support from members of our Child Advocacy Program.
The individuals AND families in the U.S. who have becomes Advocates for our children in Uganda played a vital role in their transformation.
Not only did Child Advocates make an impact by building meaningful relationships with the children, but they’re given the tools to raise awareness about their child’s needs, and keep them safe by sponsoring them at our home.
It’s through their ongoing advocacy that we continue to do what we do, provide children a loving family…and a Christmas to cherish.
As we head into the new year, we look forward to good things in store for the ones we serve, and we invite others to come alongside us to make an even greater impact.
From our family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
