At Wando International we’re equipping widows and orphans with the skills and education necessary to eliminate extreme poverty, change the family tree and create a better future for their families and communities. About Our Bead Program:
We teach women living in the slums of Uganda how to make jewelry from 100% recycled paper, giving them an alternative to prostitution or begging.
By partnering with one of the women, you receive a monthly package of jewelry, which you can share or sell with friends and family. All earnings will go directly to the woman who made them, which she uses to provide for herself and her children.
You’ll also receive updates on the woman you’re helping so you can see how lives are being transformed… one bead at a time.

Our Child Advocacy Program provides you with the opportunity to offer one-on-one support to a child in need… and it’s free to join. You’ll cultivate a meaningful relationship that can provide a child with the encouragement and comfort that they lack in their lives. And all it requires you to do is take 10 minutes out of your week to write a child a letter. So select a child, write a letter and change a life.

“I have so many incredible stories of amazing things God has done on our trips. I could write books. Our Ugandan family, The students, the mommas, the babies, the teachers…they have my heart.”
– Chandra Alisa
“Wando does a great job of making everyone they work with feel like family. After seeing the way the organization works with the people we serve, the heart for the people they serve is evident.”
– David Talley
In my four trips to Uganda, I have be able to see many Wando’s plans come to fruition – and I am sure there are more to come! Their love for the students and their families always inspires me.”
“I went on a trip with Wando to Uganda in 2014. I believe God sent me there for my precious Amina. I fell in love with that little girl the first time she ran up to me and held my hand. It is amazing to see the transformation. She looks so good and seems so happy now! I am looking forward to the next time I can go.” -Reina Rios
