Even though the second term has just wrapped up at Marah Christian Primary School, there’s still stuff in the works for our students! A few months ago, the school faculty and parents had a meeting where they discussed various progress reports and school updates. In that meeting, the parents came together and decided they wanted to make a contribution to get new uniforms made for the kids. It was a group decision and soon after that collections were taken. It took a little while to get enough funds together, but finally our new uniforms are under construction!
Measurements were taken. Fabric was purchased. Next Step: Cutting and Sewing!
To see how things were coming along, we popped in and visited the local tailors heading up this project for us. Quite a task of putting together nearly 300 uniforms from scratch! But these ladies are working hard to make sure these uniforms are finished by the start of the next term, which will be on the 26th of September. That gives the students about another week and a half to enjoy their free time before coming back.
Many of the children of course like to play with friends, play games, and even help their parents with the chores around the house. When they get back from their break though, they’ll need to be ready to study hard. Term 3 will be the last term of the year so it’s important they ensure their progression up to the next grade level. Feeling good in some crisp, new threads should help! We can’t wait to see our proud, intelligent, energetic students rocking their awesome new uniforms in the coming days. And we love how the parents in the community came together to help make this happen. Way to go Marah !!
