Perhaps one of the hardest situations in life is having a family to care for, with no spouse to lean on for support and little skills to earn money. Many women in Uganda turn to prostitution as a means to make money. As a result many suffer from STDs and have several children out of wedlock, many of whom they give up their parent rights to because they cannot support their children.
Imagine, however, being able to offer hope to a widow in need. Imagine being able to tell her that’s everything is going to be ok and that she has an opportunity to support her family.
Our widow sponsorship program offers you the opportunity to take a widow under your wings and comfort and support her in her beading business. Our goal is to not just go into a community and help people. We want to equip them for success on their own. Our bead program teaches women how to make beads from recycled paper. The result is a glorious combination of bright colors, attractive jewelry and women with the confidence that comes with knowing you can support yourself.
As a widow sponsor you partner with these women business owners to buy their jewelry wholesale and sell them at bead parties to raise funds for the widow you support.
This program is a great way to give back and build relationships. In fact, after building your friendship with the woman you support you’ll have an opportunity to join us in Uganda and meet her!

It is amazing to see the transformation. She looks so good and seems so happy now! I am looking forward to the next time I can go.”
