Nonprofit 5k Race to Empower in San Dimas

Meet the Running Club gaining speed to support a great cause!

Calling all runners, hikers, walkers, and…casual strollers!

Wando International is lacing up our running shoes and gearing up for the 2018 XTERRA Renegade 5K Trail Run Challenge.

This is an incredible event taking place in our own backyard at Bonelli Park in San Dimas, California.

If you’ve never explored Bonelli Park this is an AMAZING opportunity to join us, because this gem of a location is known for it’s scenic lake and beautiful forest views.

What are we racing for?

3 Mile Race To Empower

We’re using this 5K Trail Run as an opportunity to not only get fit, but to raise awareness about our nonprofit’s Career-Development programs for people experiencing poverty in Uganda and in the U.S.

Why not support a great cause AND get in shape at the same time?!  Sounds like a WIN/WIN if you ask us.

And just like that…a Wando Running Team was born.

So, when bouncing around ideas for team names that would let people know who we were and why we’re running, the name that stood out the most was the Wando Bead Runners!

If you caught the Blade Runner pun you’re a smart cookie.  But, “BEAD RUNNERS” because of the Bead Program Wando International has implemented in Uganda for women needing to develop skills and create a business that allows them to escape the slums.

Team Bead Runners’ main goal is to raise enough funds to support these programs to give women in need the opportunity to become self-sufficient.

Their FUNDRAISING GOAL IS $1500 which will provide Training and Workspace for 60+ women to develop themselves AND their businesses.

Team Bead Runners has already started meeting weekly for training!

You can catch them EVERY SUNDAY in Bonelli Park at 8:30AM.  AND they’re still looking for more runners to join them for the MAY 6TH 5K TRAIL RUN!

We cordially invite YOU to come be a part of this enthusiastic running club that is Racing To Empower Women Business Owners AND Business-Development programs to help people experiencing poverty in the US and around the world!

About the Author:

In 2007, Elizabeth experienced a jarring shift going from serving self to serving others. She found her calling and started seeking opportunities to connect with different Non-Profit organizations that help their communities both locally and abroad. She got involved with local outreach as a mentor helping youth build self-confidence and find a more fulfilling life through service. She then traveled to Haiti on a mission to cultivate relationships with people experiencing extreme poverty and align herself with the organizations doing something to help. Her most valuable lesson learned was that relationships can and should always be Win/Win. Finding common ground and mutually beneficial opportunities is where she finds the real magic. In 2014 Elizabeth learned the story of Michelle Huo, founder of 501c3 organizations Urban Connection and Wando International. She saw that Michelle’s work was different in the way that it actually empowered others to shift the course of their lives. This resonated so deeply with Elizabeth that she joined Michelle in 2015 to help her achieve her vision. Elizabeth is now working to help students in third world countries like Uganda learn the skills that businesses and Non-Profit organizations around the world want and need. In demand skills like driving traffic, raising awareness, and converting leads. By strategically partnering these students with SMB and Non-Profit organizations, they become empowered to lift themselves out of poverty while organizations benefit from increased revenue generation. If you're interested in growing your SMB or Non-Profit organization while making a difference in the lives of others, call Elizabeth Lozano directly at (888) 926-3688 Ext. #703
